Short Ski Break

The National Park: The surrounding mountains form part of the Gran Sasso-Laga National Park, a protected area home to many species of trees, plants and animals, such as the golden eagle, the deer and the chamois. The Park comprises the highest peak in the Appenines (Gran Sasso - mt. 2912) and the southern-most glacier in Europe; both can be reached with the help of local guides. There are many tracks leading to gorges, springs, waterfalls, caves, ancient hermitages, churches, castles and abandoned villages.
Local activities: Hiking, mountain-biking, horse riding, fishing, skiing, climbing, bird-watching, sight-seeing; kayaking and windsurfing in the nearby Lake Campotosto and Adriatic sea.
